UGH! Obama truly thinks he is a king! The government needs to stay out of the corporate issues….
WASHINGTON – The Obama administration is unveiling long-awaited new rules that would allow more workers — including potentially tens of thousands of Michiganders — to claim overtime pay.
Currently, certain salaried workers who make more than $23,660 cannot claim overtime; the new proposal would raise that threshold to $50,440 per year under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
The proposed rule, which still has to undergo a public comment period, would not change the duties test, which exempts some executive and administrative workers from overtime, depending on their specific responsibilities, but could extend overtime to millions.
