College Students Present List of Demands at University and One of them is Honoring a Copkiller and Terrorist

OK, here is my problem… Why is there a Black Student Union in the first place? If we want equality, then just ONE student union is needed… By have One for Blacks and then one for the rest of us, you have just segregated the student population…

When I was in High School, in Ann Arbor Michigan, we had a Black Student Union, I felt this was unfair. So I went to the school office and asked if I could start my own club, a White Student Union. I was told no, that’s racist. So I asked if I could start an Irish or Italian or even a Catholic Student Union, and each time I was told no. I asked why not, With a Catholic Student Union, color is not an issue… They responded, not enough blacks are Catholic.. So it was racist.

Really…. Hell that was way back in 1982…. Things will never change as-long as we keep things the same…

You’ll find all kinds of student activist groups on college campuses all across America.

However, it’s the campaign from the Black Student Union at the University of California Berkeley which has generating a national debate.

The Student Union feels marginalized on campus. So, in order to have a stronger voice it issued a list of controversial demands to UC Berkeley Chancellor Nicholas Dirks. Among those demands is to honor a copkiller.

The SF Gate reports on the Student Union’s requests:
