Legislation to change how Michigan’s Electoral College votes are allocated to presidential candidates is back on the table.

At the end of 2014, the Detroit Free Press reported, Republican State Rep. Pete Lund introduced a plan to change Michigan’s winner-take-all system to instead award the winner of the popular vote 9 of the state’s 16 Electoral College votes. The winner would also receive an additional vote for every 1.5% of the vote he received over 50%.
