Has political correctness gone-a-muck? Has it come down to the point were you are afraid to say anything just incase you may, on the off-chance insult someone. Have Americans become so thin-skinned that we can no longer tolerate differing points of views or criticisms? Is it so wrong for us to hear that others do not think and act as we do, that they may have a different way about them. I thought America was the great melting pot of the world, not the great thought police of the world, we can leave that up the European Union and their great Utopia experiment.
When a liberal from NPR can get fired for stating his own fears and the thoughts, we as a nation are in a world of hurt. Juan Williams was fired for stating his own personal fears about flying when he saw people dressed in traditional Muslim garb. He didn’t say we should be afraid, nope, just stated his own views, and for that he was fired. NPR just showed their true colors, as a liberal media outlet, they will not tolerate any point of view that they do not agree with. Think I wrong, think I am just saying this because its NPR and they are Liberal…
Here is what Juan said on the Bill O’Reilly show on Fox news.
“I mean, look, Bill, I’m not a bigot. You know the kind of books I’ve written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.”
This is what Vivian Schiller, the head of NPR had to say about Juan:
….. [that] NPR news analyst Juan Williams should have kept his feeling about Muslims between himself and “his psychiatrist or his publicist”.
Now is she fired? Nope, she still has a job. Schiller was made comments about Bill O’Reilly, something to the effect that he should be dead, but that must be OK with NPR because Mr. O’Reilly is a conservative, and we don’t want them running about now do we…
I just find the whole mess a very telling tail about how the whole Political Correctness thing is nothing more that a new form of thought control. And NPR has bought into it, hook, line and sinker, as have most of the main stream media. I hope FoxNews offers Juan a huge contract and allows him to continue to speak his mind…
Why are we so afraid of speaking our minds, what is wrong with hearing other point of views, even if I disagree with them. Why can’t we, as a nation, speak our mind then have an intelligent conversation. Oh, wait, never mind, that will never happen if we have to include the closed-minded liberals like the ones at NPR.
