A fantastic post by a good friend…..
These are my thoughts…
…shared mostly so you can understand where I am coming from, even if you disagree with me.
It is 11:47 pm right now and I should be sleeping. I should be sleeping but I am unable to. One hour ago, it appeared that the current president was going to win his bid for re-election. One hour ago, I walked into our family room and asked my husband to come join me in our room and hold me until I fell asleep. He fell asleep firs…(typical)
I asked him to come hold me because I am scared. Here is the thing, I know I have a lot of friends who voted for ‘the other guy’ and I know that tonight is a night of celebration for you. I know you will be happy and think that you have reached a level of success. I know you are certain that something better has happened for our country. I know you are confident that you can believe in the change that you are striving for. And finally, I know that you don’t quite know why people like me are so scared. I thought I would let you know why. Because here is the thing, understanding where the ‘other’ is coming from is a good thing. I want to help you understand…. (To Keep reading, select here)

Dear Catholics:
This Open letter it to all Catholics, be they liberal or conservative, laps or practicing, fallen away or on their way back home to Rome. In-fact this open letter should be shared with non-Catholics, non-Christians and anyone who is concerned about their personal liberty and freedom. This letter is intended to excite you, motivate you and call you to action. This letter is a letter of protest and a letter of compassion; it is written from my heart and shared with the world. It will, undoubtably contain miss-spellings, bad punctuation and grammatical errors. However, what it will not contain is false emotions and lack of integrity. It will be heartfelt and passionate, it will be my personal views and my faith presented for you and for all.
Revelation 3:16
So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
The above quote is the foundation upon I build my letter. The words of St. John in the book of Revelation needs to be in our hearts and on our minds as we read this letter and internalized. It is the basis of all that I have to say concerning the current state of anti-Catholic, anti-liberty rhetoric coming from Washington DC.
The Obama administration continues their attack on Liberty and Freedom; they continue to erode our rights to religious freedom. The latest being their insistence that Catholic Institutions abandon their core beliefs and offer healthcare benefits that cover birth control, sterilization and abortion causing drugs. This is a direct act against our religious freedom and anti-American. (Source)
We, as Americans, as Catholics as a freedom loving people must stand up, speak out and protest this act of religious bigotry. We, as Catholics, are called to do so, by our very baptism, we have been given the responsibility to stand up for and defend our faith and our Church. Yet, all too often, we fail to do so. If we remain still and quiet the Obama Administration will win, not just the healthcare debate, but even more importantly they
will the war he and his administration has waged against religious freedoms.
Our right as Americans and our obligations as Catholics are being challenged and we must respond, and we must respond loudly and boldly. This administration is forcing Catholic Charities, Hospitals and Schools to support and pay for treatments that are counter to our faith, counter to our faith structure. This should shock all Americans, not just Catholics. This is an attack on all Freedoms, not just Religious Freedoms. The Founding Fathers would be shocked to their core and the call for Revolution would once again be heard over this great land. The Founding Fathers fought for Freedom and Liberty, the ability for people to choose their Faith and practices it as seen fit by the faith. They fought for less government and more personal responsibility, not for Big Brother and Government intervention into our daily lives. Healthcare is a personal responsibility and one that the government should not be involved in, but that will be saved for another time. Back to this open letter and the attack on our religious freedoms.
From Bishop Boyea of the Lansing Diocese
Diocese of Lansing Responds to HHS Mandate
These past days have seen a grave error on the part of the federal government, as well as a blessed response from Catholics all across this great state and nation.
By now, all men and women of faith know that the United States Department of Health and Human Services has declared that health benefit plans must include coverage for sterilization, contraception, and abortion-inducing drugs. This unconstitutional and unconscionable mandate is to take effect in stages during 2012 and 2013.
The Catholic Church in the United States will never comply with this mandate. Told that the federal government has allowed a one-year grace period during which the Church can adjust itself to this mandate, Cardinal-designate Timothy Dolan of the Archdiocese of New York responded that the Church does not need a year to determine whether it would comply. He is right. In offering this supposed mandate, the federal government misreads the Constitution of the United States. It equally misreads the determination of Catholics.
This nation is built upon the three-legged stool of the First Amendment. Our precious freedoms of religion, speech, and assembly underlie everything this nation is, and everything this nation has ever accomplished. Religious liberty gives the freedom to preach the Truth. And the truth is that pregnancy is not a disease. Nor is the natural fertility of a woman a disease.
Through the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Michigan Catholic Conference, we are exploring a number of options, including litigation and Congressional reform. As these efforts move forward, Catholics should make clear to their elected officials the crucial importance of religious liberty, and they should pray daily for those who have the responsibility for making these decisions.(Source)
God Bless Bishop Boyea for his strong stance, he truly is a Sheppard of his flock, and I for one am proud to know he is in Michigan and at one time was part of the Archdiocese of Detroit. He speaks boldly and strongly, and his statement should be ours, we, as Catholics, will never comply with this mandate. We need to refuse, to protest and to vote with our Catholic heart and sensibility. We need to let Obama and his administration that he cannot, that no politician can dictate the pillars of our faith, that no mortal man can overturn the laws of God! We will not stand for this and we will, we must, fight back!
It is not only Conservatives or Republicans that should be upset, but Liberals and Democrats, this is not going to stop, the power grab will continue if it is not revered. We will see more laws; more directives infringing upon our Liberates and Freedoms enter into the cause of fairness and equality. The forced secularization of Catholic institutions is neither fair nor equal; it is tyranny in its infancy. It is socialism at its birth and will continue to grow unless we, as Americans, stand and fight! It is time that we rejuvenate our revolutionary hearts and stand for what is right.
Please do not miss understand me here, I am not talking about bloodshed, but I am talking about revolution, a change in the current regime and a return to Liberty and the Constitution. This Administration has trampled this document more than any other has; they have no respect for the Founders and see the Constitution as outdated and in-need of an update, The Constitution 2.0, if you will. Obama himself has stated this:
The President said,”…our Founders designed a system that makes it more difficult to bring about change than I would like sometimes.” (Source)
Really, the system Obama is referring to is outlined and detailed in the Constitution… Hmm, How dare the Founders limit King Obama’s power to force his radical and leftist views upon Americans. That is exactly what he is doing with the contraceptive healthcare law being enforced upon Catholics. I know some Liberals and pro-abortionist are hailing this as a victory. However, they should be careful not to celebrate too much, because soon the heavy hand of tyranny will crush your freedoms and liberties, as it is ours. Hold your convictions tight, as Americans; we have the right to do so, and an obligation to defend them. However, be careful and de diligent, the road to socialism is paved with many tempting things. Such as forcing all to accept, for the betterment of all, abortion, birth control and serialization. It promises a nation with “free” healthcare and equality that is not only protected by the government but also guaranteed. The temptations of Utopia are many and they shine and glimmer of in the distance, just like fools gold below the waters of injustice. We all want Equality and Liberty, we all strive for Freedom and Fairness, but as we quest for and search for this Utopia, this perfection of Government and men, we often times forget the men to whom we are governing. Our Nation was designed with one concept in mind, that it is man who gives government its power, not government who gives man its Freedoms. We, as a Nation allow the Federal Government the power to withhold Liberties and Freedoms as a payment for protection of our Liberties and Freedoms. We give them the power, not the other way around. Yet they seem to see it differently, The Obama administration seems to see it as they grant us our Freedoms and Liberties, and in doing so, they rightly feel they have the power to remove, to hold ransom, our Liberties and Freedoms. As long as we allow them to feel this way, as long as we do not stand and fight for our Freedoms and Liberties, they will continue to act as if they have the power over us, and not as our Founding Fathers intended, we have the power of them. It is our Government, we created it and we can destroy it or we can restore it! What will it be? This is a defining moment in our history; this is a turning point for our Great Nation. How will we react?
Revelation 3:16
So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
I for one am going to stand and Fight!
God Bless

The past week offered up some shock and dismay, with the mess in Oslo. The more I hear about it on the news the more one has to consider what evil is going on in this world. I know many do not believe in a active devil, one that plays a part in our daily lives, but one must consider the possibility after such a horrendous act. The pure and simple evil of it all.
The latest report states that he, the terrorist, or one could say, the devils hit man, set off the explosion for the soul purpose of keeping peace officer and other such first responders occupied so he could go tot the island to shoot and murder the innocent young victims. That’s it, that was the plan, big explosion on the main land, travel to island and shoot… And sadly it worked all to well.
The argument for active participation of the devil in our world today spoke loud and clear in Oslo, as it did on 9/11 here in the states, the British heard him speaking with the subway bombing as have countless others through the all to human army of the evil one. He exist and is more than active in our world. It is said that the devils best tool of evil is to make us think he does not exist. How true, what better way is there to work under the radar than to have the ones you are attacking believe that you do not exist. We, through our complacency, make his work that much easer.
Terrorist are proof positive of his work here on earth, but that is not the only sign of his existence, we can see it everyday, if we just stop to look:
- Abortion
- Euthanasia
- Sex abuse
- Divorce
- Murder
- Disrespect
- Laziness
- Lies
- Stealing
The list is as endless, anyway we can show God that we do not care, do not believe, are ways the he, the evil one, can interact in our lives and move us further away from He that created us, from He that loves us, from our Heavenly Father, God.
The devil exist and he is active in our world today, as he was in the past and will be in the future.
Play for the victims in Oslo, pray for the salvation of the soul of the terrorist and pray for all of humanity…
God Bless
Paul

This past weekend was an exciting time in Detroit for Catholics. The city was host to the American Catholic Council (Read here). Now let me be clear, this is a dissident group, they are Catholic only by name, and I do not support them and anyway. So, you may be asking yourself, why than, was it an exciting weekend.
Well, because of Detroit is not backing down…. He is standing up for the One True Faith…. Not something we see a lot of in todays Church. (See here) (and here)
To see what the American Catholic Council as all about look here (Web Link). The whole idea is to make the Catholic Church a democracy, allowing votes and majority rules. To create a more “inclusive” church.
Really…
Did Jesus hold a vote with the 12, did God hold a vote? Nope… Religion is not democratic by nature, and it should not be. But what the American Catholic Council is looking for is a faith that is, a faith that will allow you the “freedom” to choose what you like and dislike….
- Abortion, well that up to you and your personal relationship with God
- The true presence of Jesus, you can believe it if you want, I don’t want to force my ideas on you
- Confession, just go to the forest and hug a tree and all will be good
- Woman priest, sure why not, it will make them happy
- Traditions, they are silly, unless we like them of course
The list of “what if’s” could go on and on, but basically you are taking the Rites and Traditions of the Church and tossing them out the window in the name of progress… You are creating a faith that has no grounding and one that has no shape.
Yes, I believe in a personal relationship with my Lord and Savior, but I can have one and still have my Church and all her blessing. I don not have toss out the old to the sake of the new. Is the Church perfect, no, not the parts that man has messed up, does she need to change, sure some things, but not the parts that God has created.
In the Catholic faith there is Traditions and traditions, Traditions with a capital “T” should not be messed with, they are the oral Traditions from the beginning of our faith, much like the bible is sacred scripture, Traditions are sacred Traditions. Little “t” traditions, well they are more like family traditions, they can vary from country to country or Church to Church. There is more wiggle room there for change.
Question: Why is it that liberals, be they political or religious” fell that “progress” always involve removal of all that is “old”? Why do they feel that for an institution to be “relevant” it must “keep up with the times” at all coast? To hell with traditions and heritage, the new and latest fad is the way to go. We see it in our liberal politicians, the United Stated has worked just fine, thank you very much, for the past 200 plus years, but that means nothing to them. To them the new, the shiny and the “bold” is the way to go. Dump it all out and start fresh with the liberal agenda. That is not progress, that is regress! They would be fine with tossing out al the lessons learned and starting with nothing. What a messed up concept.
Liberal Catholics are the same. I once volunteered at a very liberal parish. So liberal that it would not allow any Latin singing or devotion to Our Lady. If that’s the case, and that’s how you feel than just become protestant (no offence to any protestants reading this) and be done with it. Or start your own church and move on.
But no, they can’t…
And here is why… I am sure for most of them it is nothing but a power thing. They want to want the power of the protest, they need to descent and be the “outsider” to fit in. They need to be different so they take the liberal point of view, claiming to be open. But more often than not, they are not open, they are as closed to ideas as they claim Conservatives are. Case and point:
If a liberal church is open to ideas and believe that each person needs to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and they believe that we each have our own path to this relationship and that “different strokes for different folks” is the mantra. Than what would be the harm in allowing the bells to be rung at consecration? Or what is the harm of a little Latin in the Mass? To me that is an open-minded thing to do. But nope, that’s not how they see it. No Latin and no bells, that “old school” and no good for you.
It always come down to that, “It’s no good for you” or “Its for your own good” or “We are looking out for you”, that is the liberals standard line when they are dictating their open-mindedness to you. When they are forcing you to follow their plans for a free society or church. When they are dictating to you how you should think…. How to be open-minded like they are.
“All are welcome” is a formal battle cry for liberal Catholics. It sounds good, and hell, who can disagree with that, I don’t. But I also know that that’s not really what they mean by that saying. All are welcome is the politically correct way of saying “All are welcome who think as we thing, act as we act and do as we say, but that was way to long for a banner, so they shortened it to just All are welcome. And besides it’s much more misleading so they like it better.
It’s the old bait and switch routine, get them in the door to purchase one thing, and switch it to another. We advertise openness, we sell you closed mindedness, but call it openness. And millions of Catholics are willing to buy it. Why you may ask, why would they buy it if it’s not what it states it is. Because we, Conservatives stink at marketing, because we don’t hype up the truth, we feel the truth on its own is good enough. We don’t need to bait and switch to get you in, we just need to tell the truth. So how is that working out for us… The Catholic Church is growing in the United States… So over all I would say good…
The times, they are a changing… The tide is coming in… The Church is going through a revolution, one that will restore Her pack to Her Conservative roots… We just need to keep speaking the truth. In the end, the Truth always wins.
God Bless
Paul

With Lent here, it’s a good time to ask the question, “Are you ready for it?” or an even better question, “Do you understand it?”
Lent is a complex time in the Church year, we are depriving ourselves, we are reminded of our mortality yet we are to be preparing for the Death and Resurrection of our Lord, a time of celebration….
Talk about emotions running the gamete… The high and lows of life are all put into the 40 days of Lent… We as Catholic/Christians are called to use this time as a time of renewal, a time to prepare for the new life, the new life in Christ.
It’s a time of sacrifice, a time to offer up to God. But many look at it as a time to stop eating candy or drinking pop. Yes they are sacrifice for many, but is that all we need to do?

Take 30 minutes to pray, ask the Holy Spirit’s guidance, look over this activities list for the Season of Lent, and make a few practical Lenten resolutions. Be careful. If you try to do too much, you may not succeed in anything. If you need to get up early or stay up late to get the 30 minutes of quiet, do it. Turn off your phone and computer. Don’t put it off and don’t allow interruptions.
- During the Season of Lent, Get up earlier than anyone else in your house and spend your first 15 minutes of the day thanking God for the gift of life and offering your day to Him.
- Get to daily Mass.
- If you can’t do Mass daily, go to Mass on Fridays in addition to Sunday and thank Him for laying his life down for you. Maybe you can go another time or two as well.
- Spend at least 30 minutes in Eucharistic adoration at least one time during the week.
- Recover the Catholic tradition of making frequent visits to the Blessed sacrament throughout the week, even if it is only for 5 minutes.
- Get to confession at least once during the Season of Lent after making a good examination of conscience. If you are not sure why confession is important, get my CD “Who Needs Confession.”
- In addition to the penance assigned by the priest, fulfill the conditions necessary for a plenary indulgence. You can learn about plenary indulgences from the official Handbook of Indulgences.
- Make a decision to read at least some Scripture every day. Starting with Today’s!
- Even if you can’t get to daily Mass during the Lenten Season, get a Daily Roman Missal or go visit the Crossroads Homepage for a link to the Daily Mass readings, and read these readings daily. During special seasons such as Lent, the Mass readings are thematically coordinated and make for a fantastic Bible study!
- Pray the Liturgy of the Hours. You can buy a one volume edition or a full four volume edition. Or you can get it day by day online for free at www.universalis.com. Or you can subscribe to a monthly publication called the Magnificat that provides a few things from the liturgy of the hours together with the Mass readings of the day. The Magnificat is a great way to start learning the Liturgy of the Hours.
- Get to know the Fathers of the Church and read selections from them along with Scripture. Short selections from the Fathers writing on Lenten themes can be downloaded for free from the Lenten Library of our website at www.crossroadsintiative.com
- Make the Stations of the Cross each Friday of the Season of Lent either with a group or by yourself. If you have kids, bring them.
Pray the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary often during Lent, especially on Friday and Wednesday. The glorious mysteries are especially appropriate on Sundays. Joyful and Luminous mysteries are great on other days.
- Purchase the Scriptural Rosary, which supplies you with a scripture verse to recite between each Hail Mary. This makes it easier to meditate on the mysteries. Another resource to deepen your understanding of the Rosary is my CD set “How Mary and the Rosary can Change Your Life.”
- If you’ve never done a family rosary, begin doing it. If starting with once a week, try Friday or Sunday. If it’s tough to start with a full five decades, try starting with one. Use the Scriptural Rosary and have a different person read each of the Scriptures between the Hail Mary’s. This gets everyone more involved.
- Make it a habit to stop at least five times a day, raise your heart and mind to God, and say a short prayer such as “Jesus, I love you,” or “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner,” or “Lord, I offer it up for you.”
- Pray each day for the intentions and health of the Holy Father.
- Pray each day for your bishop and all the bishops of the Catholic Church.
- Pray for your priests and deacons and for all priests and deacons.
- Pray for the millions of Christians suffering under persecution in various Muslim and Communist countries around the world such as the Sudan, Pakistan, Indonesia, China, Viet Nam, and North Korea.
- Pray for Christian unity, that there would be one flock and one shepherd.
- Pray for the evangelization of all those who have not yet heard and accepted the Good News about Jesus.
- Pray for your enemies. In fact, think of the person who has most hurt you or who most annoys you and spend several minutes each day thanking God for that person and asking God to bless him or her.
- Pray for an end to abortion on demand in the United States. Pray for pregnant women contemplating abortion.
- Pray for a just peace in Iraq, Afghanistan, the Holy Land and elsewhere. Pray for our troops and for others in harm’s way.
- Pray for an end to capital punishment. Pray for those on death row, and for the families of murder victims.
- Find a form of fasting that is appropriate for you, given your age, state of health, and state of life. Some fast on bread and water on Wednesdays and Fridays. Some fast from sweets or alcohol throughout Lent. Some fast on one or more days per week from breakfast all the way to dinner, spending lunch hour in prayer or at noon Mass. Some cut out all snacks between meals. The money saved from not buying various things should be given to an apostolate or ministry serving the physically or spiritually poor.
- Prayer is like breathing – you have to do it continually. But sometimes you need to pause and take a very deep breath. That’s what a retreat is. Plan a retreat this Lent. It could be simply a half day, out in nature, or in a Church. Or it could be a full day. Or an overnight. You can certainly read lots of things during your retreat or listen to lots of talks. But try sticking to Scripture, the liturgy, and quiet as much as you can. During or at the end of the retreat, write down what the Holy Spirit seems to be saying.
- Find a written biography of a Saint that particularly appeals to you, and read it during the Season of Lent.
- Instead of secular videos for weekend entertainment, try some videos that will enrich your spiritual life. Suggestions: Jesus of Nazareth, by Franco Zeffirelli, The Scarlet and the Black, the Assisi Underground.
- While driving, turn off the secular radio for awhile and use commute time to listen to some teaching on audiocassette or CD. Some great resources can be purchased through this site or from other Catholic apostolates and publishers that you can find on our links page.
- Find a local homeless shelter, soup kitchen, or crisis pregnancy center, and volunteer some time there throughout Lent. Serve the people there with the understanding that in so doing, you are serving Jesus. Try to see Jesus in each person there.
- Visit someone at a nursing home or in the hospital or sick at home. Again, love Jesus in and through the suffering person.
- Is there a widow or divorced person living in your neighborhood? If so, invite that person to your home for dinner, coffee, etc.
View Mel Gibson’s movie The Passion of the Christ during Lent on VHS or DVD, if you feel you can handle the violence. Get a copy of The Guide to the Passion to help you get the most out of the movie.
- Invite folks to view The Passion of the Christ with you, especially people whose faith is rather nominal, or who do not practice their faith, or who do not profess Christian faith at all. Give them a copy of The Guide to the Passion.
- Spend some focused time with your spouse, strengthening your marriage. Start praying together, or make praying together a more frequent occurrence.
- Spend some focused time together with each of your children. Listen. Pray. Maybe even have fun.
- When Easter comes, don’t drop the new practice you’ve begun during the Season Lent! Make a permanent feature of a deeper Christian life!
God Bless and Happy Lent
Paul

When is stealing not stealing?
Moralist will argue that we don’t always have a choice, they love to use the example of a man caught stealing bread. The moralist will say that if the man was stealing to feed his family than the act of stealing was justified. But the moralist would be wrong. Society does not allow for, nor could it survive with a sliding scale of morality. Stealing is steeling, wrong is wrong. The objections are noted and the circumstances duly noted, but stealing is stealing.
The Bible does not allow for a sliding scale, Jesus did not state that all must follow me, unless this or that happens. No Jesus said all must follow me, let the dead care for the dead. Jesus did not say follow only the commandments that meet your current social/political needs, he said I have not come to abolish the law, but to fulfill it. He told the rich young man to follow the commandments, and give up all he had to follow him. The young man was not willing to do so, and Jesus did not say, well that’s ok, follow me anyway, he, Jesus, told him to be gone.
Morality must be and should always be constant. It is only with consistence that humanity will stand a chance to survive. The greatness of a person lies in there moral fiber and the strength of that fiber lies in the constancy of its weaving.
The basic argument for a moralist is relativity, everything is relative to the person and circumstances. That each and every person and each and every moment has unlimited moral options, some grater that others, but all are still moral options.
Hog Wash!
Right is Right, Wrong is Wrong….
The Catholic Church teaches this, the actions of abortion are always wrong, regardless of reasons. Now the culpability of the individual may slide on a scale between total cooperation with the even act with full knowledge of its morality too involuntary cooperation in the evil act with no knowledge of its morality. One may be culpable or not, but the act it self is intrinsically evil.
Some will argue that abortion and steeling bread are not the same. But the logic is. The person my be less culpable if they were stealing under extreme mental stress than if they were stealing under normal circumstances. But the act of stealing has not changed.
We use this logic daily in our lives. We look at the situation and make judgment calls. Between choice “A” and “B”, A is the less evil of the two. Example:
My family is with out food, I have no job nor money;
A: Steal bread to feed my family
B: Let my family go hungry
To the hungry man who wishes to care for his family the stealing of the bread is the lesser of the two evils. Yet this does not change the act of stealing in to a morally correct choice. It just served as the catalyst for the act of stealing.
In the modern world, one that is driven by a need to always be on the side of political correctness, we have taken the moral truths and designated them the moral guidelines or the moral sliding scale. Allowing the individual the responsibility of determining there own moral standards.
Yet we seem to be at a cross roads with this concept, with moral truths and the sliding scale of morality in a constant struggle for public acceptance. The moralist is pushing for a stringent adherence to personal morality, unless it interferes with the moral reality, than the moral truth, as they see it, should take precedence over the moral truth of the other.
We see this in our everyday life. The current controversy over the Ground Zero Mosque. The moralist think it should be built at Ground Zero, or at lest allowed to be built. But the same group that wishes to allow this under freedom of religion is the same group who wishes to prosecute the Christians who were passing out information at the Arab festival in Dearborn Michigan a few weeks back. You see the morality of the Mosque fit in to the truth of the moralist at the time were as the morality of the Christians did not.
Now some may say: well your the same, you think it is ok for the Christians to pass out information at a festival but not ok for a Mosque to be built, your in favor of only Christian moral truths. Not so… I Agree that they that the right to build the Mosque, I only question the location and the motive of the location. To me it is like adding salt in to the wounds of the nation. My moral truth remains the same, each group has the right to do what they are doing, and each group is protected by law to do so.
Morality is not an ever changing target, it is a constant. It is not a personal thing, it is a human thing. Stealing is Stealing, regardless of the reasons.
God Bless

I love to read, I read books, magazines, newspapers and anything else I can find to read. I love to read different types or styles from Stephen King to Bishop Fulton Sheen. Give me a Catholic book, magazine or newspaper and I will read it. I have read the liberal press and the conservative press. I just love to read. Most people I know read for enjoyment, not to expand their knowledge base, not to learn a new fact or verify a teaching, they just read to be entertained. Me, I read knowledge, I read to grow my mind, my understanding and my ability to process information. I love to find new facts or expand my understanding of what I already know. It doesn’t matter what I am reading, for the most part, with very few exceptions, everything I read teaches me something. I will admit that at times I just want to read, I don’t want to learn anything new, I don’t want to grow, I just want to read. And when that feeling hits me I pick up one of my “car” books, books I have that I place in my car for emergency reading, like when I have a doctors appointment or decide to go out to eat on my own. My “car” books are mindless pocket books, detective type stories, no moral message, just good old fashion 1930’s style detective books. They are good for a fun and easy read, so they make perfect “car” books. But mostly I read to grow…
This fact is nothing new to anyone who has read my blogs before, I often talk about reading and relay some interesting fact along from what I have read. Well this posting is no different, except instead of a fact to pass on this time I am going to pass on a concept, an idea I read. I know I have blogged the same idea or concept along before, but sometimes you just got to keep beating the same drum. Over the weekend I was reading through all my Catholic newspapers I get, it seems that Saturday and Sunday are the only days I get to read them… So I am always playing catch up on the weekend. But be that as it may, I was reading my favorite Catholic Newspaper, The Wanderer, by the way if you do not subscribe to this paper, do so now, it is by far the best paper I have read. What makes me like it so much, it is only 8 pages, the news is conservative and it always has interesting articles. But back to what I was saying, I was reading The Wanderer and ran across an article about abortion, they always includes a pro-life article or two in each weekly paper, this article used and example of how truly ridicules the liberals can be when it comes to there pro-murder stance with adoration. The author used the example of how the government is deciding to regulate soda pop in schools. In-of-itself not a bad thing, but is it truly something the government should be concerned with, is it not more a parenting issue? I think it is, but the liberal government seems to think that they are charged with the health and wellbeing of your child, and they have to look out for and care for them. Once again, as a conservative I feel it is up to the parents and the community to decide if soda pop should be allowed in schools, along with candy bars and pizza and any other unhealthy items. But our Big Brother Government has decided we are to stupid to deal with it. But our government, who is so concerned about our child’s health and well being will allow that same 12 year old, who can not get a soda to get an abortion. Stop and think about that…
Government will not allow soda pop but will allow murder…
Government feels children should be “protected” in schools from harmful things, such as soda and candy, but hands out condoms to 5 year olds like it was candy…
Government requires a parent to be present and notified for an under age child to get an ear piercing or tattoo, but allows a 12 year old to get a major operation to abort the baby, with out parent notification…
Government states that you, the parent, are responsible for that child until they turn 18, yet they undermined your authority at every step of the way. They decided that it is ok for your under aged child to murder another human being, they decide that soda is harmful, yet murder is not.
The article in The Wanderer made the simple comparison of soda banning to abortion, the rest was mine and the list is endless. The nanny state is growing in the country and we, the American People, are allowing it to do so, We are tossing our hands up in the air and allowing the Obama administration to do as they please. Our freedoms as parents and care givers are being striped away, one silly law at a time, our freedoms as law abiding adults are being minimized with each passing day, yet we do nothing, Why? Why do we do nothing, why do we just sit back and allow this to happen? Because we have been sold a bill-of-goods that sounds utopic in nature. We have been told that they care for us, they know best for us, and and by the way here is some money… They have purchased us, and we are becoming powerless, complacent and sedentary. Shame on us, shame on the Catholic Bishops of the United States for not teaching the truth boldly and loudly! And why don’t they, why are the silent on most issues, because most of the Bishops are in the pockets of the liberal Democratic Party of this great nation. Sure they state they are pro=life, but not to loudly for fear that the Democrats may hear them. Sure they write there papers and event send them to the press, but the liberal press will use it only to degrade the Church.
Our Bishops should be marching on DC, demanding that abortion be abolished, that our children should be protected from Planned Parenthood should not be allowed to be in contact with our children. Our Bishops should be teaching and informing the faithful and the true teachings of our faith, the Church established by God. Our Bishops should be speaking out against the Obama administration and its efforts to allow millions of illegal immigrants to gain entry into this country, a act that has nothing to do with compassion but everything to do with the 2012 election. Our Bishops need to take a stand for the faith, the true faith and not some liberation theology version of the faith. And if they refuse to do so, they should leave the church and find one that represents there version of the truth. Harsh I know, but that’s how I feel most of the time. I do not understand Catholics who disagree with 90% of the teachings, yet remain Catholic. Our Bishops need to hold the Catholic politicians feet to the fire of truth, calling them in, confronti
ng them with the truth and forcing the issue at hand. Basically our Bishops need to stand up and be men, be the voice of the Church, the voice of Christ calling out in to the wilderness and calling His sheep back in to the fold. They need to stand tall and strong in the face of deception, toll the line of truth and fly the flag of our Church, The Church established by Jesus Christ, the visible Church here on earth.
The more I read, the more passion I get for the Truth, for the Faith. The more I learn the more love I have for my Church and Her teachings. I may not understand them all, and I may wish at some of Her teachings were not, but that is a human problem, my problem, not Hers. Reading provides me with the ability to discover the truth, in my own time and way. Be it Stephen King or Catholic Answers Magazine, The Truth will shine through the pages. The Truth will set you free, a lesson we all need to learn and relearn on a daily basis. The Bishops would be smart to remember this, and to teach this truth.
Please know that in no way do I assume that all Bishops are failing in there duties. Most are, i assumed, good and holy people. But over all the Catholic voice in America is silent, and that voice belongs to the Bishops. Yes Catholic laity and priest and other religious have a duty to proclaim the Good News to all the ends of the earth, but it is our Bishops who should be leading us, teaching us and guiding us.
God Bless

In a soft voice, full of concern it was spoken. “This is my body”. It was spoken with a love that was felt by all and it lofted lightly in the air waiting for the soft breeze to carry it away.
Contrast that with the biting words being spoken, words that hurt and kill, so heavy they fall to the ground, “This is my body!” A soft breeze could not carry it away, not even a gale force wind. The words hang like death in the air.
The contrast between the same phrase is striking, remarkable, yet they are spoken daily. The fist are spoke daily by our Lord, “This is my body given up for you” the second spoke by thousands daily “This is my body, I will do with it what I please!” are spoke by woman who are confused and lost and seek answers in abortion.
Our Lord offered up freely His life, the unborn offer up their body under force. The contrast is striking and shocking. Modern day thought is one of “personal freedom” yet freedom is not the outcome but rather slavery. Slavery to the modern ideal that freedom is doing what you want regardless of who it affects.
Everyday 4000 lives are lost in at war. The lives have no voice with in the congress nor do they sit on large company boards, yet everyday someone makes a decision for them. A decision that their life is not worth it, that they are expendable that they can be forgotten about and can be sacrifices in the war. The war on human dignity, a war on the unborn.
President Obama and others claim to be “pro-choice” yet the one they are affecting have no voice, they can exercise no-choice! How can we as a nation who claim to be one of peace and non-violence (excluding defending ourselves) murder 4000 new lives each and every day?
Four thousand (4000) lives daily, more lives have been killed than in the wars of modern history, yet the peace loving non violent left allow this, they not only allow it they encourage it! The contradiction is striking and one that needs to be called out, one that needs to be rectified!
I am pro-life, I am male and I am Catholic. I am proud to write this blog to defend the 4000 lives that will be lost today, and I hope all pro-choice people will be as proud to let there voices be heard. Write a blog, forward mine, send a letter to your representative or to President Obama, ask them to clarify how they can justify the murder of 4000 Americans each and every day, how can they look at themselves in the mirror knowing that they allow murder to take place each and every day.
“This is my body” are you hearing the soft gentle loving voice of Christ or the harsh scared hate filled voice of the culture of death? Was the body given up freely out of love and sacrifice or was it offered up to the alter of modernism and individualism? Are you truly pro-life or are you of the mindset, well I’m pro-life, but they have to make their own decisions? are you allowing the murder of 4000 babies each and everyday to take place with out even offering up a prayer? Pro-life can not and should not mean sitting still and silent, it can not mean that, non-action is the same as participation. Be it abortion or any other social sin. We must act!
Not all are called to join pro-life movement, I for one am not, I do not belong to one and I truly do not feel the calling to one. But as a Catholic Christian I am called to defend the poor and helpless, and who is more helpless than the unborn? I try to teach the sacredness of life in all I do, and every now and than I try to write about it, maybe not as direct as this, but I try to offer what I can. I will not vote for a pro-choice candidate and I will not support many organizations that donate to pro-choice causes. I do what I can, with the grace of God and the gifts He has given me. Do you?
Just keep in mind the words of our Lord:
“This is my body, given up for you”
God Bless

The Catholic Church has been under attach for sometime from the liberals. Be it the liberal media or liberal Catholics. They have decided that the the Catholic faith is the last allowable prejudice. Not only is it allowable but it is also encouraged!
The attaches coming from with in the faith are the most destructive and discouraging. But all is not lost, we, the faithful can still take back our faith, be can still put up a good fight and win the battle for our Church and our souls.
As someone who has been involved in church ministry for over 20 years I have a great deal of background knowledge to build off of. As someone who seems to always be placed in a parish that is liberal, I seem to have been inundated with there concepts and lies. the lies can seem harmless at first, maybe even silly or no big deal. they can start off as just a tid-bit of information that leads the faithful off the path but just centimeters. But as that path continues to wind it’s way through the forest that centimeter turns in to meters.
The smallest of lies can lead to the biggest of errors. In truth it is easer to tell a small lie, less chance it will be seem. The liberal lie of “All are welcome” is a small lie. A lie the use to segregate the population under the flag of open mindness. They use the rally cry of “All are welcome” to bring in the pro-abortionist or the pro-same-sex couples. They cry out for acceptance yet fail to except the true teaching of the faith.
The lie itself is an inviting lie, who would not want to welcome all, as a conservative I to say “All are welcome” but unlike the liberal who use the it as a rally cry to bring down the Church from with in, I use it as a beckoning to call home the lost sheep to build up the Church.
Simple lie really, just a slight change in the purpose, yet the consequence of one will destroy what God has made and the other will build upon the foundation that God had laid.
The list goes on:
- Woman Priesthood
- Abortion
- Same-Sex unions
- Social Medicine
- Unions
And on and on and on…..
The list of so called social issues can be exhausting, the catholic Church does address each and everyone of the issues, yet the liberals are able to twist each one to fit in to there agenda, perverting it in to some sore of pagan/Christian social/economic all you can eat buffet. They give the same value to the poor as they do to abortion. The use a concept call the one cloth or one garment theology. A theology that perverts the teachings of the Church and Jesus. The Church teaches that Abortion is intrinsically evil, that under no circumstances is it ever allowable. that human life is sacred. Yet the liberals see no problem in demoting abortion to the same level and the poor.
The poor should be cared for as they are. They should be loved and nurtured and we as the faithful and as the Church have an obligation to do all we can to eliminate the conditions that create the poor. But the Church does not and has never taught that the poor were intrinsically evil. Big difference. Even Jesus stated that we will always have the poor with us.
The liberal Catholics have perverted the meaning of Catholic Social Justice to be a catch all phrase for all liberal concepts and ideas. They have impregnated the minds of countless Catholics with bubble gum intellectual thoughts that are nothing but sugar and air, no real substance to it.
The cry foul are every utterance the Pope makes, yet claim allegiance to the Church. They site Church dogma, yet lack understanding because they allow their own prejudice to interfere with Gods voice. And they claim fidelity to the Traditions and Faith as they tear them down in the name of “Social Justice” and “Progress”.
The state of the Catholic Church is on shaky grounds, the liberals have succeeded in eroding the foundation. We, the faithful, must fight back, we must demand that our Priest, Religious Sisters and Brothers, Catholic Schools and Hospitals and Universities hold true to the Teachings and traditions of the Faith. We must demand that they return to the fold.

The Catholic Church has been attached, but not from the outside but from with in. We have our own Judas and its name is Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD).
What are the charges, what have they done to deserve the name Judas? Why would I title them with the name of our blessed Lords trader? Judas convicted our Lord to death because he found our Lord to be in the way of his personal plans. Judas wanted a revolution, he wanted Jesus to be the leader of this. But Jesus had other plans and they conflicted with what Judas wanted, so Judas had our Lord put to death.
The CCHD is doing the same. They have a plan and the Catholic Church is in there way so they are willing to have her put to death. They are willing to sacrifice the Holy Church for there evil designs. they are willing to offer up the weakest among us to advance there evil designs.
Just as Judas was willing to forsake our Lord so is the CCHD. Below is an article concerning CCHD and their deeds, also please visit www.realcatholictv.com to watch an report on the CCHD. Than make sure you let your outradge be known. Share this blog with your family and friends, write letters to the Catholic Conference of Bishops and to the Vatican demanding that the CCHD be SHUT DOWN NOW!

CCHD Promotes Pro-Abortion Groups In ‘Stations of the Cross’
By Staff Writer
Pewsitter.com
Washington, DC (11 March 2010) – A new “Stations of the Cross” devotional from the United States Conference for Catholic Bishops’ Catholic Campaign for Human Development profiles five CCHD grantees involved in the promotion of abortion or same-sex marriage.
“During these final weeks of Lent, we ask the bishops cut funding for the CCHD until a complete investigation and overhaul is conducted,” said Michael Hichborn, American Life League’s lead researcher into CCHD grants and a members of the Reform CCHD Now coalition. “It is unacceptable that a Lenten devotion beloved by millions of Catholics the world over would be commercialized to include “prayers” that are little more than fundraising pitches for pro-abortion and same-sex marriage groups.”
Groups profiled in the Reform CCHD Now report on the Stations include:
- The Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition – for making statements in support of abortion and for promoting a pro-abortion group.
- The United Workers’ Association – for joining the Equality Maryland coalition in support of same-sex marriage, and for remaining on the Health Care for America Now coalition, which is fighting to include abortion funding in health care reform legislation.
- Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement – for participating in a forum that promotes homosexual activism.
- People Organized for Westside Renewal – for joining three coalitions that actively promote abortion and same-sex marriage.
- New Mexico Acequia Association – for espousing anti-Catholic theological views and professing full support for a pro-abortion organization.
“Until these issues and those highlighted by the Reform CCHD Now coalition in the past 6 months have been resolved, we respectfully ask the bishops to follow the lead of the seven bishops who have cut off funding from the Catholic Campaign for Human Development in their diocese,” said Stephen Phelan, communications manager for Reform CCHD Now partner, Human Life International.
To sign the petition to “ensure no more Catholic dollars are spent to support organizations advocating abortion or same-sex marriage,” go to www.ReformCCHDnow.com.
